spotlight on {nars}

I’m a sucker for gorgeous packaging and Nars has perfected the art of cosmetic branding. Its sleek cases and clean logo have me drooling at the mouth every time I walk by one of their counters and their products truly live up to the all the hype their outer shell would suggest.

Recognized for their suggestive names like orgasm and deep throat, Nars offers so much more than a few risqué blushes.

We’ve been seduced by:

IMG_6065-2the multiple in copacabana

creamy, shimmery multi-purpose highlighting stick

$39

These products are some serious game changers. I already told you guys on Instagram about my obsession with Fanny (which I pair with velvet lip liner in bella mare) Ordering online? Nars offers free shipping on orders over $50 and complimentary returns.

makeup tips {every bride should follow}

10150809_10102410366004054_1924097120454660649_n

On your big day, you want to look like yourself. This seems like a no-brainer, but this cardinal rule of bridal makeup often gets overlooked. Do you normally go au natural, full on Kim K smokey eye, or somewhere in between? Your daily look is your jumping off point for picking your bridal look. If you’re a minimalist, a subtle eye with neutral tones is probably the best way to go. You’ll want to be sure to still contour your face and eyes so that your face has dimension for the photos, but your color palette can be based on your skin’s natural tones, rather than something so dramatic that people won’t recognize you. Hate lipstick? There’s no reason to pick your wedding day to start wearing it: you’re going to be smooching your groom all night anyway. Rocking a bare lip or working with a lip stain is a great low maintenance way to go. If you rarely leave the house without being completely dolled up, then a more dramatic look might be suitable for you. And don’t be afraid to wear those false lashes–they photograph beautifully. The most important thing for any bride to be is to do a test run of your makeup. You should book a consultation with a makeup artist well before your big day, or if you’re doing your makeup on your own, be sure to practice the look you want over and over. And over.
