With summer just a few short weeks away, you’re probably starting to think about getting beach ready. But the answer doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other; it’s all about feeling great, so here are three tips to getting your perfect bikini body.

Diet: Don’t Restrict; Refine.

Like it or not, when it comes to losing weight and being healthy, diet is about 70% of it. In lieu of a diet that restricts you completely, try shifting your lifestyle to one that keeps you both healthy and satisfied. Monday through Friday, stay diligent. Try cutting down your meat and dairy intake and keep your fridge stocked with plenty of raw veggies and fruit. Replace sodas and juices with water, steer clear of anything that comes prepackaged and end your day with a cup of herbal tea. Saturday and Sunday are your days to indulge; cheese plates, lattes and juicy burgers are all a go.

Exercise: Vary Your Routine

Chances are you’ve heard that cardio is the best way to shed a few pounds but in reality it’s a varied routine that keeps us in shape and feeling good. Throw a few strength training classes into your weekly routine in addition to cardio and you will for sure notice a difference. When you build muscle, you increase the amount of calories you burn while not exercising, and who doesn’t want to be burning calories while sitting at their desk?

Skincare: Pamper Your Largest Organ

While you may be tempted to hit the tanning salon, opting for spray or rub on tans is a far safer option and just as effective. Self tanners like St. Tropez have a really natural look and don’t damage your skin. Invest in some great SPF products for your face and body and stock your shower with exfoliants and scrubs to encourage skin cell regeneration and don’t forget to moisturize.

With a refined diet, regular but not rigorous exercise and a stellar skincare routine, you’ll be looking and feeling great just in time for summer, regardless of your thigh gap status.
